Basic Ankle Assessment (Part 2)

Duration: 30mins    Presenter: Nathan Carloss

Ankle assessments are common in clinical practice.  Subjective questioning combined with physical movements and orthopaedic tests will form part of the assessment.

These videos will increase your knowledge of palpation skills, surface anatomy of the ankle, muscle tests, overpressure differentiation for dorsiflexion and plantar flexion, as well as ligament tests.

Stability tests are broken into lateral ankle, medial ankle and syndesmotic ligament groups.  Mechanism of injury  is also included.

At the end of both these videos you will be able to accurately assess for a common plantar flexion and inversion injury, syndesmotic or high ankle sprain and medial ankle injuries.
