Femero-Acetabular Impingement (Part 1)

Duration: 25mins    Presenter: Nathan Carloss

This two part series will address the relatively new diagnosis of femero-acetabular impingement or FAI.

Hip pain is a common complaint among the athletic population.   Hip and groin pain has received a lot of attention in the research in the last decade.

An irritable hip can be difficult to get a correct clinical diagnosis. This video will step through anatomy, pathomechanics and likely presentations  of an FAI hip.

Anatomical understanding is furthered with diagrams and radiographic imaging to illustrate normal allignment, abnormal findings and the pathomechanics that result.

Clinical decision making for the short and long term implications of cam and pincer lesions on the articular surfaces of the hip are presented.  Leading into the second video on management strategies.
