The outline of the series of power point presentations begin with background of the incidence, severity and prevalence of hamstring strains in sport.  Then the functions of the hamstring are highlighted which leads to mechanisms of injury.

 

The myriad of risk factors presented in the literature, make this soft tissue injury one of the most difficult to manage in athletes.  Research articles in conjunction with clinical experiences is presented.

 

This second video in the series begins with what are the pathoanatomical changes in hamstring strain injury.  The various neuromuscular changes have devastating effects if unchanged at return to sport.  This leads into discussion on what clinicians need to assess and be aware of to minimize re injury rates.
